Some weeks feel like a whirlwind, packed with tasks, meetings, and moments that fill both your calendar and your heart. This past week was exactly that—a blend of the daily demands of building an off-grid life and the inspiring connections found in community events. Balancing the practical work of securing wood, water, and power with attending a vibrant conference brought a fresh perspective and renewed energy.

Attending the Tasmanian Women in Business Conference
Midweek, the pace shifted from hands-on work to engaging with inspiring stories and ideas. The Tasmanian Women in Business conference in Devonport was a two-day event filled with powerful talks and networking opportunities.
Listening to local women share their journeys revealed the diverse paths to success and the challenges overcome along the way. The stories ranged from small business startups to community leadership, each offering valuable lessons and motivation.
The Wednesday night VIP dinner at Verona was a highlight. The venue’s cozy and intimate atmosphere made it easy to connect with others. Sharing a table with the Mayor of Devonport and other remarkable women created a space for meaningful conversations and new friendships.

Returning to What I Love: Friday’s Bake Day
After two busy days away, Friday brought a welcome return to the kitchen. Bake day is a special time, blending creativity and routine. By 6 pm, the baking was complete, deliveries made, and the kitchen tidied.
The evening ended with a simple pleasure: pizza with family at our cozy home on the hill. This moment of togetherness was a perfect way to unwind and reflect on the week’s experiences.
Finding Balance in Busy Weeks
This week showed how busy schedules can still include moments of connection, inspiration, and self-care. Building an off-grid life demands focus and hard work, but attending events like the conference adds richness and perspective.
Here are some ways to balance a busy week:
Prioritize essential tasks to keep daily life running smoothly.
Make time for community events that inspire and connect.
Create space for relaxation with family or personal hobbies.
Reflect on achievements to stay motivated and grounded.
Busy weeks can feel overwhelming, but they also offer opportunities to grow and connect in unexpected ways.
Embracing the Journey Ahead
Each week brings new challenges and rewards. Whether stacking wood, listening to inspiring stories, or sharing a meal with loved ones, these moments build a life that is both sustainable and fulfilling.
