🌾 The Wild Crumb: A Beautiful Beginning & an Exciting New Chapter

The first few weeks of The Wild Crumb have been nothing short of incredible. What started as a small-batch, coeliac-safe microbakery in Ulverstone has already grown into something far bigger than I imagined — a community, a rhythm, and a shared love of good food that’s safe for everyone.

Every Friday morning, as trays of cupcakes, brownies, biscuits, and rustic loaves come out of the oven, I’m reminded why I began this journey. I love baking — the quiet focus, the creativity, the joy of watching simple ingredients transform into something beautiful. But having a purpose behind it makes it even more satisfying. Living with coeliac disease myself, I know exactly how hard it can be to find truly safe food. Creating a space where people can trust every crumb has become my driving force.

And now, something big is happening.

🚐 The Wild Crumb Is Getting a Custom-Built Bakery Trailer

After weeks of planning, dreaming, and refining the details, I’ve officially placed an order for a custom-built bakery trailer. This is a huge milestone — one that opens the door to a whole new chapter for The Wild Crumb.

The trailer will be a dedicated, coeliac-safe bakehouse on wheels. Purpose-built. Beautifully designed. And completely mine.

This means:

  • A space that’s 100% gluten-free and safe

  • A workflow designed around small-batch baking

  • The ability to bake and serve directly from the trailer

  • A setup that supports growth without losing the heart of what I do

But the most exciting part?

🌟 Becoming Mobile — Reaching More of North West Tasmania

Right now, The Wild Crumb lives in Ulverstone. But soon, I’ll be able to bring coeliac-safe baking to more communities across the North West.

Places where gluten-free options are limited. Places where coeliacs often miss out. Places where a warm, safe bakery treat would make someone’s whole week.

The trailer means I can pop up at markets, events, small towns, and local gatherings — meeting people where they are, not just where I bake.

It’s freedom. It's growth. It’s a connection.

💛 Why This Matters

Every message from someone newly diagnosed. Every parent is grateful to find something safe for their child. Every customer who tells me they haven’t had a cupcake, a brownie, or a proper loaf in years.

These moments remind me that The Wild Crumb isn’t just a bakery. It’s a lifeline for people who have spent too long feeling left out of the simple joy of good food.

Being able to expand that — safely, intentionally, and with heart — means everything to me.

🌱 What’s Next

Over the coming months, I’ll be sharing updates as the trailer is built, fitted out, and prepared for its first outing. There will be behind-the-scenes moments, design choices, and plenty of excitement as this dream becomes real.

Thank you for supporting The Wild Crumb from the very beginning. Thank you for trusting me with your Friday treats. And thank you for being part of a community that believes safe food should still be beautiful.

This is just the start — and I can’t wait to bring The Wild Crumb to more of Tasmania.
